The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially published its grant payment schedule for the remainder of the 2026/2027 financial year, giving millions of beneficiaries advance notice of when they can expect their monthly payments.
The payment calendar covers Older Persons Grants, Disability Grants and Children’s Grants from August 2026 through to March 2027, allowing beneficiaries to better plan their monthly budgets and household expenses.
SASSA Payment Order Remains Unchanged
SASSA has confirmed that grants will continue to be paid in the same staggered order each month to reduce congestion at payment points and minimise pressure on the payment system.
The monthly payment sequence is as follows:
- Older Persons Grants
- Disability Grants
- Children’s Grants
- Exception payment dates for unresolved or delayed payments
Beneficiaries do not have to collect their grants on the first payment day. Once the money has been paid into their account or SASSA card, it will remain available until they choose to withdraw it.

Plan Ahead Using the Official Schedule
SASSA says publishing the payment calendar well in advance allows beneficiaries to plan their finances and avoid unnecessary uncertainty throughout the year.
The agency also reminded beneficiaries to rely only on official SASSA communication channels when checking payment dates or grant-related announcements. False information shared on social media can cause unnecessary confusion.
